The chemicals business has formed the basis of the Central Glass Group and served as the foundation for development into our fertilizer and glass businesses.

Soda ash produced through chemical reactions between salt and carbon dioxide or ammonium is the primary material used in our glass manufacturing processes. Furthermore, soda ash finds wide application as a source of alkali in diverse industries including bottle making. Ammonium chloride, a by-product of soda ash, is a fertilizer ingredient. Calcium chloride, another by-product of soda ash is used as an antifreezing agent for roads in cold seasons. Additionally, Central Glass supplies basic materials for a diverse range of industries, including polyaluminum ammonium chloride used as a water treatment chemical and non ozone depleting rigid polyurethane blowing agent.
