The Company was founded as a chemical manufacturer to produce soda products. Later, it embarked on a fertilizer business by developing the production system to produce both soda ash and ammonium chloride. Furthermore, the Company ventured in the glass industry since soda ash is a primary material for glass.
Our glass business first focused on architectural glass products. As the company's level of glass manufacturing techniques sufficiently increased, our business evolved into producing automotive glass. In recent years, we have expanded our business into fine glass to produce flat glass for displays. The Company also began to produce glass fibers as a new business rather than the evolution of an existing business.
In our chemicals business, we started our fluorine business as an effective use of the fluorine that was a by-product in a fertilizer production process. Our efforts have been successful in developing high performance and high value-added products such as organic fluorine products for industrial use, active ingredients for pharmaceuticals and agrochemicals, their intermediates, and other fluorine compounds for semiconductor and LCD related industries.
