Since 1966, we have hosted the Central Glass International Architectural Design Competition.

Distinguished authorities from the Japanese architectural community are invited to serve as judges, and each competition theme is uniquely conceived to encourage free, imaginative ideas and deep intellectual exploration.
From the 10th competition onward, submissions have been welcomed from outside Japan, making the competition truly international in scope.

As a result, the competition has attracted strong interest not only from students aspiring to pursue careers in architectural design, but also from professionals actively working on the front lines of the field, including those at architectural design firms and general contractors, both in Japan and abroad.

We hope this competition will serve as an opportunity to consider what a desirable society and environment would be in the current era, where not only the pursuit of economy and rationality but also the preservation of the natural environment and historical and traditional culture is required.
