Central Glass Co., Ltd. has positioned the development of power semiconductor substrates as one of the key themes in our Medium-Term Management Plan announced in May 2025, and is actively pursuing research and development in this area.

We are pleased to announce that our joint application project titled Promotion of Fundamental Technology Development for Oxide Semiconductor Single Crystal Substrates for Next-Generation Power Devices, submitted in collaboration with the Faculty of Engineering at Yamaguchi University (Ube City, Yamaguchi Prefecture) and LEAD Co., Ltd. (Ube City, Yamaguchi Prefecture), has been selected for the Special Category of the FY2025 Yamaguchi Industry Innovation Promotion R&D Grant Program (Semiconductor and Battery-related Fields).

With the support of the grant, we aim to commercialize a new business for gallium oxide substrates, a next-generation power semiconductor substrate expected to experience significant market expansion in the mid- to long-term.
